Ina Garden is an American author of cookbooks who has earned Emmy Awards. Ina Garden hosts the oldest Food Network show, Barefoot Contessa. The series premiered in 2002. It will air for another 27 seasons. Ina started out writing nuclear energy policy documents and budgets of the White House. While she found it intellectually stimulating initially eventually she was bored and decided to purchase a smaller boutique of specialty foods - Barefoot Contessa. After more than 18 years of making her store a huge success, she decided to sell it and started writing her first book. Other cookbooks followed, as did magazine columns. Later, she was also a part of the Food Network television show too started and soon became popular. She also sells a range of products ranging from cooking supplies as well as storage containers and equipment. Ina she never went to cooking school, nor did she worked in restaurants. She's completely self-taught. Ina's easygoing style of entertaining as well as her simple cooking style are well known. The most well-known recipes she has created are her lemon chicken with a skillet roast and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon and balsamic-roasted Brussels Sprouts, and Lemon Bars.
